Vitebsk railway station - the oldest station in Russia. The first one-story wooden building was erected in 1837 for the first in Russia, Tsarskoe Selo Railway, which connected St. Petersburg and Tsarskoe Selo. Traffic on the section of St. Petersburg - Tsarskoe Selo was opened on October 30 (11 November) 1837.
In 1849-1852 years in this place was built a stone building designed by architect KA Ton, existed until the beginning of XX century.
